Breaking News Trend – Small, Durable Laptops for Kids
By admin on Feb 5, 2010 in Laptops Articles
Finally, the computer industry has decided to shift its attention to a little 'younger demographic. No, not that the technology-loving college kids, teenagers or even the vast knowledge of the Internet. Put them in the middle-school children – from six to 12
World's largest PC manufacturer, HP has recently announced the release of its new Mini-Note PC laptop – a small computer Hardy, easy and inexpensive designed primarily for children. More likely than not, the decision of HPproduction of the Mini-Note is a direct consequence of the success of the Asus Eee PC. Since its initial release last year, Asus Eee PC has been a top seller. Miniature features a 7-inch screen (known by the company as a 'super mobile Internet device, "rather than a laptop) carved its niche to target students in the average level of management. But, as with any invention comes the unexpected success that the collection of followers began to drip onto the market.
Still,HP is definitely the largest company to jump into the mini-notebook market to date. And their Mini-Note does not offer more features than the Asus Eee. Mini-Note has a large (9-inch) screen and a shell in sleek, durable anodized aluminum. Screen has a scratch and the keys are covered with a protective coating. HP Mini-Note keyboard is also bigger than the keyboard on Asus Eee – making it easier for adults to use. For extra durability, incorporates HP Mini-Note3D Drive Guard, which sends a signal to close the disc with the sudden movement or shock (which crashed). Other advantages of the Mini-Note on the Asus machine includes Wi-Fi connectivity and a USB disk. Mini-Note is about $ 100 more than the lower end Eee, with a suggested retail price of $ 499 (and more sophisticated models for the price of over $ 1000).
Addition to providing some competition for Asus, Mini Note is an attempt by HP to solve the education market – one of thefew markets computer giant is not the owner. Both Dell and Apple have more computers for schools or HP, the company third in the distance. HP also announced that the development of a teacher exchange of experiences, an online resource where teachers manuals for teaching technology in the entrance hall. Along with the Mini-Note, this initiative aims to help bring the name of HP's head of educators.
By matching the Mini-Note just for children of middle school,HP wants to increase its market share of education, and hopefully the same success of Asus, the experience. For now, it will be interesting to see if the Mini Note is most stylish in a position to take a bite out of the cheapest Eee sales. In both cases, both products are facing fierce competition in the coming months as more companies seek to cash-in for the mini-laptop craze. Intel (who actually beat Asus to the door with his classmate mini-computers) will soon release the next generationClassmate who has a 30 GB hard drive and, like the Mini-Note, a 9-inch screen LCD. And the voice said that Acer will be next in line, releasing their mini-computer with a lower price than the Eee.
Not yet available in stores, HP Mini Note is for sale on the site of HP.
